About us
The Point Bar & Lounge is an underground cocktail bar set in a historic 125-year-old stone basement in downtown Prescott. The space is built for people to sit, stay, and connect over drinks. There are no TVs or windows. Cozy couches, dark wood, and dimly lit tables frame the horseshoe bar, where guests can watch cocktails come together and chat with a bartender or a friendly patron. Live music is featured every Saturday and on many special occasions.
History
Henry Brinkmeyer began baking bread in this basement in 1887. He went on to purchase the building in 1890. After it burned in the Whiskey Row Fire of 1900, he immediately rebuilt the bakery and was selling bread to Prescottonians 3 days later. He soon built the structure 2 stories above known as, The Old Brinkmeyer Hotel. The bakery was later turned into a boiler room for the hotel and served that purpose for decades. In 1974, it became a bar, appropriately named, The Boiler Room. After that, Sundance's, then, Scotty’s, and finally, the bar you are in right now, The Point Bar & Lounge, founded in 2014. We are now the host of this property and we are glad you found us.
